Standing on the edge
Lights blaring
Shooting rays of heat
Through every inch of your body
The calm silence
Ringing in your ears
The memories of the people who were once there
Your heart
Pounding from the excitement
Beating faster with every breathe you take
And the empty seats
Now containing people
There's your mom and your dad
And then there's your grandpa
The one who had never missed one of your shows
Until now
He's all you think about
But he's gone
And you collapse on the stage crying
The rays of light
Now freezing cold
The silence
Making you feel all alone
Your heart
Just wanting him
And the empty seats
Always remaining empty
